El Dorado Fire Chief Chad Mosby Recognized for 30 Years of National EMS Certification
The El Dorado Fire Department is proud to announce that Fire Chief/Paramedic Chad Mosby has been recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for 30 years of continuous National EMS certification. The National Registry recently presented Mosby with a certificate commemorating this milestone and his longstanding commitment to professional excellence in emergency medical services.
Mosby first earned National Registry certification in 1995 as an EMT-Intermediate and later that same year obtained his National Registry Paramedic certification. Since then, he has maintained his National Registry credentials through ongoing education, training, and recertification while serving the citizens of El Dorado and advancing through a distinguished career in fire and emergency medical services.
National Registry certification is recognized throughout the United States as a benchmark of professional competency for EMS providers. Maintaining certification requires continued education and verification of knowledge and skills to ensure EMS professionals remain current with evolving standards of patient care.
Mosby has served in the fire service for 31 years and has been a paramedic for 30 years. He currently serves as Fire Chief of the El Dorado Fire Department, a position he has held for the past 14 years. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to professional development and advancing the quality of emergency medical services delivered to the community.
The recognition highlights both Mosby’s dedication to the EMS profession and the El Dorado Fire Department’s commitment to providing exceptional emergency medical care to the residents and visitors of El Dorado.

2026 Spring Civil Service Testing
The El Dorado Fire Department will be holding their Spring Civil Service Test the first of April. The Civil Service Test consists of three phases. They are:
1) Written Exam - This is a timed, multiple-choice examination. The material will objectively assess the knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics of a candidate.
2) Oral Interviews - Typically the interview board consists of 5 individuals and usually lasts around 15 minutes.
3) Firefighters Physical Agilities Test (FPAT) - This test is designed to simulate the job duties of a firefighter.

PriorityCare is a joint venture ambulance membership program between ProMed Ambulance and El Dorado Fire Department EMS. The annual membership drive allows current members to renew and new subscribers to join the area's most comprehensive ambulance membership program.

Few people ever plan to need an ambulance, but the fact is that hundreds of times each year ProMed responds when a life is on the line. Many others rely on the compassionate care that the highly trained professionals bring each time an ambulance is called. While people recognize that the cost of an ambulance is no longer free, support for this special cost saving program is a solid community investment. ProMed and PriorityCare members recognize that the ambulance membership program makes it possible for ProMed to provide the highest quality care possible � paramedic advanced life support. Even in remote rural areas, paramedics are readily available and bring a virtual rolling emergency room to the patients side. More importantly, members realize the financial savings that the program provides to them and to the community. With the cost of a single emergency response exceeding $500, a ProMed or PriorityCare ambulance membership helps offset these often unexpected medical expenses. Even with a significant segment of the population covered by some form of insurance, most plans - including Medicare and Medicaid -- do not fully cover the costs for ambulance service. Many times, the patient is responsible for non-covered services and non-allowed charges. The fact is, you are probably only partially insured for the actual cost of ambulance and emergency medical services. As a ProMed or PriorityCare member, you're costs may be fully covered and, in cases where no insurance is available or the insurance denies the claim, you are given a 40% discount off of the normal fees. Those without a membership must pay 100% of the ambulance bill each time the ambulance is used. That adds up to hundreds of dollars in savings if the ambulance is only used one time.
