The El Dorado Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for fire prevention, code enforcement, fire investigations, and public education throughout the City of El Dorado. Our goal is to reduce fire risk and protect lives and property through proactive inspection and community partnership.

Types of Inspections We Conduct
🏢 Commercial Business Inspections Required for all new businesses and conducted annually for existing businesses. Covers exits, fire extinguishers, alarm systems, sprinklers, and electrical safety.
🏗️ New Construction Inspections Required prior to certificate of occupancy. Covers fire suppression systems, alarms, site access, and life safety compliance.
🏫 Schools & Daycares Annual inspections required for all educational facilities and childcare centers. Includes evacuation planning and drill documentation review.
🍽️ Restaurants & Food Service Required for all food service establishments. Covers kitchen hood suppression systems, Type K extinguishers, and cooking equipment safety.
⛪ Churches & Assembly Halls Annual inspections required for assembly occupancies. Covers occupant load, exits, seating arrangements, and stage safety.
🏘️ Multi-Family Residential Required for all residential properties of 3 or more units. Covers common areas, smoke detectors, mechanical rooms, and exterior access.

New Business Owners If you are opening a new business in El Dorado, contact the Fire Marshal's Office before opening to schedule a pre-occupancy inspection. Early coordination helps avoid costly delays.
